      Yes, it is fake.

For those unfamiliar with Yandex, it’s the largest search engine in Russia. So the implication of the post is that Trump is a poorly coded Russian AI troll.

Fighting against misinformation does mean one has to consider the dangers of resharing and people not doing their due diligence.

Pronouns. Also this is exactly my point. Pepe the nazi frog and other 4chan spawn procreated for a reason. Memes work to spread an idea just as much as to create one or some reasonable doubt and distrust when, for example, a truly outlandish thing happens to be real such as the surprise armstice on Sunday.

The “sir” is a meme reference that has nothing to do with anyone’s pronouns, and any reasonable person would recognize as not misgendering. Additionally, if you think every community online must treat everything stoically and accurately with no room for whimsy or fun, you need to get outside and touch grass more. You’re not going to save the world yourself, learn how to find peace for yourself.

I am not against this meme or having fun. I am in favor of editorial info where warrented.

The problem is that people is always posting the real stuff here, so people have no basis for deciding.

Maybe, but for me it’s funny because I read it, checked the instance and decided it’s most probably fake. A disclaimer that it’s fake would make it less funny. Besides, the posts in "onion’’ instances also don’t get marked as fake. You can’t outthink people without critical thinking skills.

It’s so ridiculous. Part of the reason “the right” has been successful online is they’re funny. This idea that everything needs a disclaimer and an earnest explanation is what kills humour.

20 years ago I worked for a student newspaper. Every year we did a parody issue where we emulated one of the big local papers (yes, this was when we still big papers plural). Someone complained we should put a disclaimer so people weren’t misled. We answered that the picture of the prime minister boxing with an ostrich was the disclaimer.

They’re not that funny. I think the funny stuff was made by people who had dark humor but didn’t mean a thing, even parodying right wing jokes. Then the actual right saw that success, took over with real actually meant stuff and people went along with it for too long.

Bots can actually do a reasonable impression of human communication, unlike Trump.
