Exactly. Not using tools the game gave you is a challenge play. Intended play includes the summons, or else theyd not be summonable.
Healing is cheating. True gamers beat the entire game no hit first try. Because practice is cheating too, as it makes you better at the game and this makes bossfights easier.

It’s so strange to me when people complain about the idea of difficulty modes when the game already has tools to adjust the difficulty indirectly. I definitely prefer to fight bosses without summons, but it’s awesome that people who need them get to play the game too.
They should have made a Nox boss that uses a mimic tear as a second phase
