Florida’s politics have been misunderstood. Democrats have failed to compete there because they haven’t offered voters inspiring candidacies, not because it’s a “red” state.

Decades of rich old white people retiring there, along with a strongly religious Hispanic population gave it that rep. If that’s changing, it’s probably more due to the brick wall their long-preferred party has run them into than the fact they suddenly woke up.
