What games would you pick that aren’t really a part of the horror genre, but maybe have horror vibes, or fall vibes, or something else that makes them really suited for fall?

Another game I always thought of as horror-adjacent but not actually horror, but is ALSO a throwback from my childhood that I first played in the fall so I think of it in the fall:

I sort of want to fire up Harvest Moon when the weather gets like this to be honest. It’s got the right kind of cozy vibe, but it’s obviously not horror. Maybe its spiritual successor is even better suited.

I’m also just partial to games where it can rain in the fall, like The Sims or even GTA.

Stanley parable goes pretty well with the times. A bit of confusion and almost never seeing the sun.

Bloodborne is a great choice! Last fall I had fun with Cult of the Lamb and Dredge. Also gonna recommend Inscyption. I’ve also seen Night in the Woods recommended in similar threads, but I haven’t played it myself.

It might be tagged as a horror game, but I think of it as more of an action game with a horror theme: Kingdom of the Dead is a fun little boomer shooter with stylized graphics. It’s playable on Steam Deck (I had to change the controls), but I’d recommend playing it on a larger screen.

And The Upturned Is a a cartoony horror-comedy game with a great sense of humor.

Maybe those are both technically part of the horror genre, but I didn’t think they were scary and I liked them too much to not mention them.

An old one just came to mind:

It’s kind of a point and click adventure, although I played it originally on a NES. The music gets a little repetitive, but it’s pretty enjoyable. You can watch a playthrough here, but I don’t think it’s a very fun game to watch, you really gotta play it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcZp3nETUXQ
