Yes. His current output is largely positive which is why people overlook his past behaviour.
he’s an odd guy. at this peak of internet fame in the west i suspect there’s already a baseline level of asociality you have to get to have such a large and captive audience.
i have no doubt that was his actual authentic sense of humor, and so he is a piece of shit, which makes me wonder why he actually actively takes such a pro-china stance when it genuinely has no benefit to him. the best i can say is that i do believe he is an authentic person, with such extreme blemishes and also contrary enough views for me not to think he’s some form of plant. he seems to desire a unique folk hero status among streamers as well.
(tyler the creator as well is now fairly beloved as a ‘counterculture icon’ to many people who would otherwise have values that are so against his early work, which is so genuinely sickening without much substance that i think it’s ‘bad’ art [not very valuable to me / not something i personally like] even if i can like some of his new pieces and don’t feel it’s particularly evil to consume work from him)
Correct me if I’m wrong but the incident you’re reffering to was something he said on a stream when he was 16 years old. I don’t think it’s fair to permanently discard him for something stupid he said when he was a literal child. Not excusing what he said obviously but he was just a dumb kid at the time.
