Hi everyone! I recently switched from Reddit and I’m using Voyager on Android. I never get a notification when someone replies to me or sends me a message. I only see them when I open the app.
Android notifications are allowed for the app, so it doesn’t look like a settings issue on my side.
- Is there any setting I might be missing?
- Is this planned for the future?
- Is there any workaround for Voyager specifically?
Thanks in advance!
AFAIK that’s by design. The author does not want to have the attention grabbing cycle of notifications in the app.
why this ?
I think the app might be just a wrapper for the web version.
Did you download from F-Droid? It might be that some library (that’s necessary for notifications) can’t be included there because it’s proprietary.
They should add NextPush support
Nextpush ?
Sorry, meant UnifiedPush, NextPush is just the UnifiedPush app I add to my phone to use my NextCloud server as my notifications push relay. There are others. But basically allows you to self host notifications while only requiring the developer to integrate the api calls from the UnifiedPush push library.
Tusky and Element both support this on Android.
