A giant rodent from southern Thailand, known from two fossil teeth, a lower molar and an incisor, found at a coal mine in Krabi province. It lived in the Eocene and is estimated at around 30 kg, about half the size of a large capybara, making it one of the largest rodents of its era. It belonged to the Ischyromyidae, an extinct family of early rodents. Its genus name joins the Thai word for giant with the Greek word for mouse.
