i racked my mind quite a bit over this cause i took it credulously, and while it could be a joke i think there’s a way for it to be approximating “Old Sexy Laura Croft”–“New Unsecy Laura Croft” type discourse, without understanding that different iterations of a game character aren’t analogous to the same person in different lights
