Flows from the pier to … an area controlled by the Israeli military. The same military that’s been refusing to let aid trucks through checkpoints, that let Israelis loot and burn aid trucks, that deliberately and repeatedly targeted aid trucks and murdered aid workers. I’m sure this will all be just fine.
America didn’t need to spend $320 million dollars to build this pier. and doesn’t need to use it’s army to ferry food on boats… They could simply require Israel allow the miles of trucks at the borders to enter in exchange for all the free bombs and military supplies.
Stopping the supply of free bombs to the IDF might help too!
I’m sure it’s that simple
This was CHEAPER than simply not giving Israel Weapons and Bombs!
But letting trucks through a border would have been even cheaper
I don’t understand what you’re saying. In the context of a comment about US spending, replying to an article about US aid for displaced Palestinians…
In what way can the US “let trucks through” Israeli checkpoints? (Other than international pressure, which has proven to be largely ineffective so far)
I think international pressure, like most global pushes, ultimately stumble when not receiving backing from either Russia, China, or the US.
As their biggest western partner, we have yet to lay ANY substantial pressure on Israel
But think of Raytheon’s profits! Won’t somebody think of Raytheon’s profits?
Watch Israel bomb it.
Anybody who believes this is the answer is incredibly stupid.
The region has land borders. There are aid trucks at the land borders. The Genociders refuse to let the trucks in. The same people that won’t let the aid very far off the pier. The same people that just crossed the US’s “non red line red line” about destroying the last remaining city
US spends months so it can send small amounts of food to the families of the people it’s still helping murder
from?
