From what I’ve gathered on Mastodon, a lot of instances have blocked fosstodon.org for being full of libertarian techbro takes. It’s always a waste of time interacting with them. Plus I’d rather not lemmygrad be a shitposters instance, leave that to the chapos on hexbear.
It’s so frustrating that FOSS communities are always full of libertarian types. You’d think open source stuff would attract a lot of socialists but no. I remember reading a thread in r/linux about how Huawei employees were submitting cleanup patches to the linux kernel and the comments were full of people saying we should ban any code coming from Chinese devs lol
Tech people tend to fall a lot for capitalist talk because they’re the popular kids right now. People from Russia have also been barred from contributing in projects, so that is already a reality.
