I think the games were both really bad, both in lore, environment, and boring ass combat. And also Ubisoft has something almost exactly like the “nemesis system” that they used in AC Odyssey, so it’s not that special. Not special enough to make the Shadow of games playable anyway.
I did a big catch-up on games I’d missed a few years ago when I got a PS4. Nabbed Shadow on sale and was super excited to finally try this amazing game that everyone raved about.
Pretty much immediately realized that it was another mf’ing Batman Arkham combat clone, haven’t touched it since. A plague on modern gaming.
I tried playing AC Odyssey but it just felt weirdly cluttered like I was being bombarded with a bunch of useless information the whole time. Refunded within two hours.

Personally I agree but a lot of people seemed to enjoy them.
