Seriously?

This has got to be some kind of joke. This game has been through delays after delays, broken up into episodes, more delays, released in a broken state, delays again, and now they are wanting beta testers for the second part?

I’m happy for a Stargate game, but if the struggle is this bad, just pack it in and let someone else have a crack. Remember, MGM forced Stargate Network to shutdown for this; a fan made game that was a screen accurate FPS in the making with less bugs than this professional game.

Yeah I was so looking forward to Stargate Timekeepers. Even if it wasn’t as good I wanted to buy it just to have the franchise not be dead.

But when it “released” it was such a buggy mess, it was basically unplayable. And what there was to play wasn’t worth it, it had barely anything to do with Stargate and felt like a single indy dev’s first project. There wasn’t really any gameplay, it had zero depth.

They should really just call it quits and let somebody make a real good Stargate game. Something that’s thought out before hand and actually does something with the Stargate IP. Not a random other game with Stargate slapped on. With how rich the Stargate IP is, I feel this shouldn’t really be a problem.

Or the franchise should be labeled as dead and let the community make the games they want. IMHO the way things like copyright and IP is handled is so broken.

Me too, especially because I love Commandos. Timekeepers doesn’t have even half the amount of elegance in its level design. Half the enemies are standing still facing the wall with no-one else around; at that point why bother placing an enemy there at all?

It’s mind boggling that this was originally supposed to be a single release game. Ok, so they blew past the deadline, and they made the interesting choice of releasing half of it, with the rest free later. At some point they must have realised that can’t work because then they are just spending more money to get the game finished after they’ve already taken profits. So now they’ve come up with the idea of season passes in the hopes that one day the sales will catch up to development costs. But they are doing so badly that the rest of the first game needs beta testing? The second half that was supposed to be released for free in April? Sucks to be whoever invested capital in this project.
