Otters are quite cute, but if I frequented this off leash dog park, I’d carry both bear mace and a telescoping baton. If they want to get fresh with me or my dog, they will die painfully and slowly.

Edit: also, I get that they might be protecting their young or whatever, but in this case, so am I.

It’s an off leash dog beach. It’s literally a place a dog is allowed to dog. Nobody would expect their dog to go for a swim only to be drowned by otters.

And if your dog goes after other dogs instead of otters? Why is the dog trying to fuck with the otters?

Off leash isn’t an excuse for dogs to “dog”

If your dog is going after other dogs then your dog hasn’t been properly socialized, it shouldn’t be at an off leash park.

Nothing in this article says or implies the dogs were attacking the otters. It just said the dog swim out towards them.

Given the otters went for a human as well, I think it’s reasonable to call them aggressive and problematic.

A 6 year old with the right tools could do the same. I’m not trying to seem badass, I’m simply calling people who go out there without these things weak individuals who don’t actually care about their dogs. You should take this stuff to an OL dog park regardless in case of an out of control dog.

Wtf. I’ve never once felt the need to take weapons to the park with my dog.
