Hello. I’m new to Lemmy and Memmy both, and I had a question regarding its functionality. Is there a way to open a link in Memmy? I have a community I want to join but clicking the link just opens it in my browser, and for whatever reason I can’t find the community in Memmy’s own search bar.

If it’s not in your instance, you’d probably be better off searching and adding in the web UI.

Could you explain? I’m not sure what you mean.

Go to your search bar after logging in to your instance in a browser and type in !community@instance.tld hit search. You may have to hit search again. It’s buggy when not fully federated. Also of course change the community and instance with what you’re wanting.

I think I got it, but I pretty much had to use my laptop in order to do so. Don’t think I could have gotten it to work from mobile.

The UI has been acting kind of weird for me regardless. I’m wondering if it’s just Lemmy being Lemmy?
