I both envy and pity those that can and need to blast out applications like this. There aren’t 1500 open positions in my field in the country. As someone who struggles with doing nothing, application grinding would resolve a lot of anxiety.

It’s funny that not too long ago getting a FAANG job right out of college was a recipe for success. Now many grads would prefer to avoid them because they’re so toxic, but can’t find a job and have to apply anyhow.

An associates, bachelor’s, and master’s here. I’ve been rejected for being “underqualified” for jobs with no stated or practical education requirement. I just got a job making a bit above 1/3 of what I was making when I was termed seven months ago. I’m incredibly overqualified and I only got it because I was third choice and two PhDs ahead of me backed out after being offered it. The job is just above entry level and has a requirement of an associates or high school and 2 years experience.

It depends. I was terminated under false pretenses, so I collected unemployment without any issues.
