Well, maybe your ex is also your neighbour (literally happened to me). It’s not practical to not think of your ex at all anymore, because they still have a presence and effect on your life. So you still have to manage that and be civilly neighbourly, but they should not have any bearing or space in your new relationship.

Personally, I am very pleased with my Max Lumi (which has been superseded by other models). It was quite expensive, though, but I can say I have used it very often for five years and expect many more of it, still. However, because of its size, I don’t often bring it out with me. I primarily use it for studying at home.

But if you don’t need the largest size (13"), the smaller ones are less expensive. If I were to replace mine, I’d probably go for a 10" one. I think that seems the right balance of size for writing notes and portability.

I think “genre episodes” is more fitting than “gimmick”. On the one hand, I like the meta-ness of SNW exploring all the genres of film and television. And I like to imagine how much fun the actors are having, being able to act in so many genres and some their charterers in different ways. On the other hand, it’s tiresome. This kind of thing only works well written it’s the occasional episode, not the whole season/series.

I say this as someone who found the soap opera episode hilarious. The problem is that the episodes become more about the genre-of-the-week than it does about the story.

I wanted to change careers to something totally different and took a course and found the maths beyond my capability to understand. That was when I found my ceiling. And you know what? That’s okay. In a similar vein, during my undergrad, I took one single class in 3D animation. Up until that point, I thought I would love it. Turns out I HATED it. I could do it, but I hated it. I’m glad I took that class, otherwise (again), I may have spend the rest of my life thinking about this ideal career and regretting not going for it. Instead, I’m so relieved that I never had to do it again.
