I’m sure a tinfoil hat can be arranged.
I’m sure a tinfoil hat can be arranged.
Am I crazy
Chances are probably higher that Putin is crazy.
But trying to rationalize this, it’s probably Putin trying to show strength up to the American presidential election, supporting Trumps claim that it’s foolish to help Ukraine. After the election we will also have entered winter season, where Russia will try to rebuild.
Last I heard 1 maybe 2 months ago they were estimated to have 3000 tanks. But I hope you are right, and they are running out.
Edit:
Apparently they STARTED with about 3000, and by March this year some estimated they had 1300, so about 700 now could be true.
https://www.newsweek.com/russia-firepower-war-losses-casualties-ukraine-1880852
The average number for special equipment is about 3, so having a day with 99 is extremely unlikely even on a “busy” day.
The average number for vehicles and fuel tanks however is about 25, but numbers above 50 are not that rare. So 99 for that number is way more likely than zero.
So they put the 99 number in the wrong slot by mistake.
Yes that’s probably it, I was just thinking it was the person making the graphics that made a mistake. And didn’t really look further.
Strange with the 0 vehicles and fuel tanks. But I checked ministry of defense, and that is the number they post for today:
https://www.mil.gov.ua/en/news/2024/09/28/the-estimated-combat-losses-of-russians-over-the-last-day-1470-persons-62-uavs-and-55-artillery-systems/
IDK why this is downvoted, there are a couple interesting perspectives like this one IMO.
Maybe — just maybe — historian Heather Cox Richardson is correct when she writes in her newsletter that “We appear to be in a moment when the reality-based community is challenging the ability of the MAGA Republicans to create their own reality.”
I think that’s true, Harris has shown democrats a great balance on how to handle Trumps lies. Sometimes even just dismissing it as crazy.
But no matter what opinion polls show, it’s important that as many Americans as possible vote, it’s the only way a democracy can work.
Vote for the democracy!! It’s a right you don’t want to lose.
Trump using blatant mafia scare tactics to get his way. And about half the American voting population is like. Hey that’s cool, I’m absolutely fine with that, as long as he also makes the poor, the colored, the immigrants and LGBT people suffer, and he lowers taxes for the ultra rich.
What he’s lost is reputational.
Oh no the poor soul, he lost reputation for behaving like an insane out of line asshole, using power beyond his position to utterly humiliate another person in front of her peers.
Notice what he did was actually a violent physical and mental assault, exposed for all her class to see.
That judge should be in prison for abuse and assault.
He will never move into a higher position and will languish in traffic court
He will still be highly paid and have the prestige of being a judge. Very possibly in a few years, this will be considered time served, and he will be moved up again.
It wouldn’t be the strangest thing that has happened. It’s actually quite logical.
U.S. insurance companies will definitely deny every penny of coverage of an elderly person on a trail.
What? Really? Doubt.
Oh but that wasn’t the only punishment, he also had to take some sort of behavior course for a whole week with full pay.
That’s harsh considering he is a protected class.
Those judges protecting each other from consequences are no better than when corrupt policemen do it.
the wealth redistribution he wants will see everyone’s money go to a few people.
And that’s the opposite of what is necessary, everybody has to be part of it, and the rich have to carry the bigger burden.
What he is doing is based on flawed logic, that the wealthy are the ones that build the economy, which the evidence shows isn’t true.
I’m wondering why the people elected him? Did they only have 2 options like USA?
Absolutely, back in the days before the 80’s “only in America” was often used for something Big and Impressive. Now it’s used for something stupid or double standards.
American society used to be considered the pinnacle of the world, but it changed in the 80’s, when they began to lower the quality of their society with extreme republican policies:
They failed to acknowledge pollution of the atmosphere is a problem and did absolutely nothing about it despite their wealth. While Europe began to work seriously on ressource and climate sustainability already in the 70’s. Today USA has twice the pollution per capita compared to most European countries.
Their healthcare and life expectancy is worse than any EU country.
They have completely failed to get gun violence under control or even try for 5 decades now.
They have extreme poverty despite being among the richest countries in the world.
Their democracy is a flawed first past the post model and only barely a democracy, because it’s unable to reasonably represent diverse interests of the population.
Extreme religiousness is widespread and permeates politics as seen with insane abortion restrictions that destroy lives and families.
Corruption is widespread and obvious and even out in the open. Even the supreme court is both corrupt and politicized.
Not an ideal to follow, and it’s very sad to see how they have failed to progress or even maintain the quality of the society they had in the 70’s.
there’s definitely been some of it as opposed to zero.
That’s a sad truth, Reagan basically stopped checks and balances on monopolies. Clinton tried to revive it, but it was killed by Bush.
So basically free reign for large cooperations for 40 years.
Thank God, I thought it was way more widespread than that, so glad to hear it’s just a small town in Mississippi.
Yes I just read the article, and remembered reading about the guy some months ago, Javier Milei is delusional in his economic thinking. He may stabilize the economy, but it will be at great cost to the population.
I was not talking about Javier Milei specifically, but economics in general.
Apparently Javier Milei is an idiot, so chances he is doing the right things are slim.
Unfortunately if the government has been run on unsustainable economics previously, balancing it to be more sustainable will make people poorer on average. The aim is of course to build a foundation for sustainable growth afterwards.
If possible, the best way to balance the budgets socially is to increase taxes on the rich. It’s a horrible situation because things generally have to get worse before they get better.
I hope the government is doing the right thing, so Argentina may restore their economy. But unfortunately right wing governments tend to favor the rich and not the poor.
I just read the part: “What policies is Milei implementing in Argentina?”
And this is not a good way of doing it, just cutting social assistance is a very harsh way of doing it, and will hit the vulnerable parts of the population the most. I now remember reading about the guy a few months ago, and he seems to be delusional also in his economic thinking.
Anyone know if this main sensor is better or worse than the 13T Pro? I’m thinking especially for low light conditions.
14T Pro: 50MP Light Fusion 900 ( Omicron OVX9000 ) 1/1.31"
13T Pro: 50MP Sony Exmor IMX707 1/1.28"
The Omicron is slightly smaller.
Edit:
Apparently it’s a VERY GOOD sensor, this review says it puts the iPhone 16 Pro Max ( Ultra Deluxe Super X Plus ) to shame.
Sorry just has a snaps, and those phone names are getting ridiculous.

Now if only they’d make a quality durable synthetic back instead of the glass garbage, that is the main reason for requiring a case, I might have bought it.
It’s very attractive IMO, Dimensity 9300+ is crazy fast, the screen is top tier, it has lots of storage and the Cameras are probably best in class.
The main point why I like the 13T/14T is the flat front screen, I hate curved screens, it reminds me of CRT monitors, and it’s bad for reflexes and erroneous input.
My 2 biggest beefs with modern high end phones are curved screens, and glass backs. It’s worse than no mini jack and SD slot IMO.
Is that like rubber bands, it’s the same amount only stretched? Like we changed the scales on the graph to make it look bigger.
Is it really normal to write like that headline in English? Because to me it sounds stupid.
Seems increases would be the “normal” word to use.
