The quote is about them calling it a “gay story” not a “post apocalyptic gay love story”. The reductive 2 word description is rightfully annoying to a man who brought a well written and fleshed out love story to life, only to be told he made a “gay story”

The story isn’t about them being gay. Its about them being in love and dealing with the post apocalyptic bullshit along with their relationship. To call it a “gay story” is to single out the one tiny part of it that is them being gay and reduce the whole thing to that. I doubt you’d just classify Schindlers list as a “Jew story” or Black panther as a “Black story”. I do like how you slipped from it being a “gay story” to a “gay love story” tho, nice save. In no world is somebody asking for more detail on a story going to want to hear “its a gay story” and be satisfied. If they want details you’d tell them more, and if they didn’t a more accurate summary would be “love story” or even “post apocalyptic gay love story” but just “gay story” is like calling lord of the rings a “travel diary”

I believe the new edition has all the dlc included though I dont know for sure if they’ll work in the old edition, I had already owned the old dlc when the epic update happened. I assume so but I can’t guarantee it. As for content the re elected version is basically just the base game with all the dlc included, so there wasn’t anything new besides jamming epic integration and crossplay into the game.

If you are getting the game on steam keep in mind the last update broke basically all the old mods, and it was late enough after development that they didn’t really get updates. If you want to mod the game or avoid it pestering you about logging into epic use the older version you can apply in the properties of the game in steam.

Also know that if you want to play coop ymmv, its a fun game but crashes and disconnects are common, and your progress with your friend might desync if you disconnect, so you may need to juggle who is hosting.

TLDR: good game, buggy coop, mod scene is sort of complicated due to late stage patches to implement EGS stuff.

I worked at a gas station for a while, at the time I was deeply depressed and suicidal. My boss had to deal with me vanishing from being hospitalized over a suicide attempt and he didn’t fire me, or reprimand me, he got me a get well soon card, and told me to let him know when I was up to come back.

I eventually left and ended up on disability, but even when I quit he was understanding, wished me the best, and told me if I was ever looking for work again to apply there.

Good fucking guy, really did his best to make our lives easier, and make sure we were doing ok.

Well you’re allowed to feel like the choices are shit, they def are. I don’t think I’d lay the blame for a broken system at the feet of somebody already doing what they reasonably can, which you are. Imo its a systemic problem that I think will require voting reform to fix, that’s fundamentally driven by the 2 party duopoly.

I’m not frustrated with you, I’m more upset with the OP for acting like the best option is to give up. Its definitely a shit show but unless we’re ready to go full revolution we have to contribute in whatever way we can. The simplest being to vote. Obviously more is better, but doing anything at all is better than like a third of Americans, and I’d argue better than halfish the rest of the 2/3rds but that’s my own political opinions.

How do you plan on holding them accountable? Not voting at all does nothing. Voting for somebody else might help, voting in primaries even more so, as does being otherwise involved in politics.

Not voting isn’t anything, its nothing, its doing nothing, its accomplishing nothing.

Definitely do other stuff too, protest, email your reps, plan your revolution, whatever, but voting is an easy entry point, and ignoring it is a mistake. Vote vermin supreme for all I care just go vote.

Sort of, yes. It is our fault for not being more active in politics. But its not like its directly our doing, its more that our inaction simply makes it worse, and acting like the people who are actually trying to improve things are big dumb idiots while doing even less than they are is a pretty shit take.

I think a discord server can be a useful tool, but a proper doc for things is also important. Definitely sucks when I want to look something up or troubleshoot an issue and have to search through discord threads for words vaguely related to my issue and find half a conversation spaced between year old memes and 3 entirely separate issues.

The difference would be the phrasing and specifics. “Magically switch trans people to the assigned sex at birth that they desire to be?” Works for some. “Magically make trans people’s bodies align with their specific and nuanced gender identity” is less of an issue. The problem you run into with the first is some are not interested in surgeries or are non binary so a full surprise sex swap would not be what some trans people want.

I still think consent is important though, even if the way the magic works is basically “they get what they want”. As much as it is hard to imagine, there are also trans people who do not want to transition at all due to having family or friends who would cut them off (I think that’s a pretty awful and tragic situation to be in, but imagine the trans woman who magically changes to the shock and anger of her deeply religious family or SO, who then ostracize or reject her, or even react violently). You aren’t likely to be murdered for recovering from cancer, but in some places magically shifting assigned sex might come with some pretty awful, bigoted strings attached
