That’s really the extent of how far I’m willing to go to bat for fuckin Unfrosted my dude. Of all the movies ever made, Unfrosted ranks pretty high on the scale of “I really don’t care about it (or what anyone thinks about it) one way or another.”

6·6 months agoI would guess not. Any authentication scheme would just be another risk point to not be able to talk to the thing from earth.
But I’m just guessing.
I would doubt they would have encrypted anything on the probe back in 1977 when it launched.

2·6 months agoThe shitty thing is that I have everything in my house just working right now. Media server, photo backup, drive pooling, snapraid, kids’ PCs, etc etc.
Can I do all this on Linux? Of course. Would it arguably be better on Linux? Yeah probably. Do I want to invest God knows how many hours/days/weeks switching things over, debugging issues on all my devices trawling through forums to find fixes…? Hell no.
I literally can’t upgrade because of their new hardware requirements. My PC is plenty powerful for the tasks I need, what am I supposed to do, buy another one?
This time they’d actually bring out the machine guns.
