  • What on God’s Green Earth are you talking about? I hack electronics. Okay, mostly, I fix them, but I thought this community was about electronics. I said in my first comment I would enjoy completing this captcha, so why would I hack the forum that supposedly uses it?

Is “these forums” the name for some cool new russian tamagotchi clone or soviet calculator clone or digital slavick bird call? Then, for hacking purposes, you might have caught my interest. Still wouldn’t learn the language though. Yes, I was already well aware that translators can generally handle cyrillic.

  • No one has mentioned the idea of having double-decked stations to make it so you don’t have to worry about moving to the right floor in advance of your stop.

I would posit this as a given if we bothered to make taller tunnels for taller train-cars, but based on other comments here, I’m not sure this idea actually makes the concept of double-decker subways any more sensible or useful.

It looks like those metros that have a use for the idea have made it work in their own way and places that haven’t tend to have significant reasons of their own for not going this route. Enlarging existing tunnels vertically seems to be a non-starter in most places, for instance.

  • Only problems I’ve ever had on TPB were not finding things that I could find on other sites. Then again, I don’t use Windows for either downloading or media consumption, I check torrent file lists as I’m downloading to make sure I’m not downloading anything suspect, and I’ve so far managed to catch wind of things like certain trusted uploaders getting hacked, spoofed, or just plain trying to cash-in, in-time to avoid getting worked over.

Those same users post to most of the other public sites as well, so I’m not getting where TPB is somehow particularly un-trustworthy. IME, other public sites seem to have MANY more torrents for a given search, often by orders of magnitude, so which one is really less moderated?

The REAL encouraged/discouraged is Private vs Public sites and trackers, and I’m not pretending that for all my caveats I haven’t been just plain lucky. If you download regularly at all, Private is the way to go.

  • “What time should I call you back, or what time will you be calling me? Is there a time-frame in which I should not call you? Me, I sleep from 10-to-18.”

Do you not even know anyone who works second or third shift? Hell, when I was on a line-boat, we did 6 hours on shift, 6 hours off(sleeping). It wasn’t that hard for the half-dozen contacts I had set to bypass Do Not Disturb to remember not to call or text me during my off hours unless it was important, and of course I knew when to let them sleep.

Let me ask you this: Do you remember your overseas friends’ sleep schedules by their time-zone, or yours?

  • I voted for Howie Hawkins last time, certain in the knowlege that Biden would win, Trump would go to jail, and we could hold Biden’s feet to the fire.

January 6th, and all the related bullshit that’s followed, showed me that I had made a huge mistake and just got lucky when it comes to the MAGA-crowd’s coup competence. I will not make that mistake again, not in this election anyways.

“Abandon Harris” is a shit campaign name. Self-aware guilt, right in the name.
