I came over to Lemmy a few days ago. I had still been using Boost for Reddit. Somehow my app was still working, but I finally got shut off a few days ago. I can’t handle the promoted posts on the reddit app. I’m at peace with advertisements but the promoted posts were too confusing/distracting for me to comfortably browse.

1·1 year agoIn the US, you can get Walmart and Target delivered to you in 3 days for a lot of stuff, but I’m not sure if ordering from them is much more ethical than Amazon.

61·1 year agoAmazon is just so convenient, it’s hard to say no. If I need new socks, I can press one button and somebody brings it to my front door in a couple hours at a cheap price. Alternative? Order them somewhere else online and get them in a week or drive 20 minutes, deal with parking + crowds to get them a couple dollars more expensive.
It’s a crap situation but I understand how Amazon got so big.

I bought The Last of Us and gonna try it out on steam deck. Pretty excited!
