I’m planning on buying “Is This Seat Taken?” For Switch. It’s a cute little puzzle game that my fifth-grader has been asking for. Winter Break from school is a great time for this sort of purchase.

I might also get the Capcom version of Picross.

Bad news! I don’t remember as much of the game as I thought! But I’m glad we’ve all taken turns enjoying it in these weekly posts.

Good news! The BP is there already! Every character gets BP even if they aren’t in the active party. But I might be thinking of something else. I know XP isn’t for the bench, but I thought everything else was.

On the alone front, I’m still grumpy about Octopath Traveler 0 and the game key situation, but there’s a anniversary event in the mobile game it is based on, so I’m not stressing about it too much.

In a professional note, I am using Kahoot! as the scoring system for an ongoing school game for my civics classes. The students are in their fall season now with six “football” teams playing each other double round robin over the ten weeks of the 2nd quarter of school. Since it’s American football-based, I take the top eleven players from each team to calculate their weekly score and post it for the kids the following day. Since the quarter is winding down, I’m working on the next quarter’s game, based on the March Madness tournaments. Getting 160 kids’ data and scores into 32 teams is a game in itself (on one of my favorite sports: Microsoft Excel).

Can I predict they’ll add an eighteen minute recap of everything in the marvel world since their popularity dropped?

I’ve liked not feeling that Marvel is everything pop culture since Endgame while also enjoying the movies I decide to watch. It’s nice to not feel locked into having to see everything like I did around the tear before the snap.

I stalled out on Sea of Stars before the last battle. I know I’m strong enough (the game is well designed on that front), but I delayed because I knew the fight would probably be long. Then the summer came. And went. I hope to go back there one day.

I’ve been trying to motivate myself to post but school has been kicking my butt. I managed a little session of Octopath Traveler II today, but with zero of the (at least) eight stories complete, I can’t imagine I’ll have that one done in time for Octopath Traveler 0. I’m not even done with the main story in Champions of the Continent!

I did evangelize a game to someone this weekend: “I Was A Teenage Exocolonist”. I’d be interested to hear thoughts from y’all VN fans to hear how you liked it.

I actually read the article because I’m so excited about Octopath Traveler 0 but I was reminded again that the Switch 2 version is a game-key. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I love the series so much but I also hate the idea that I’m going to have a cartridge that won’t work if I don’t have Internet. But then again I don’t wanna buy the digital version and solve all my problems. Maybe I’ll just go with Switch 1 so that I can play it while I’m laying in bed or in front of the TV or anywhere on one of the consoles I have in the house.

I’m having a great time watching the direct. He’s so much fun; Sakurai feels like that character that’s always breaking the fourth wall.

I’m happy to see his Direct. He’s fun for me to listen to. Even though I probably won’t buy the game, I love to hear him talk about it.

This game was my wife and my relaxation when we could get the baby to sleep. It was an amazing game (with an amazing post-game that came out a week at a time through DLC if I remember correctly).

I just watched a tool-assisted speed run of someone playing through the game with just the hero. What a nostalgic blast!

Oh my, I did not realize Wario Ware was on Switch with the extension pack. That game is easily one of my top three best gaming values of all time and would be my number one GBA title if it wasn’t for Rhythm Heaven.

I have probably played the jump rope game hundreds of times. It is a genius game that has never been followed up with a 100% better game. Thanks for the memories!

Have you ever heard of the FFVI randomized Beyond Chaos? A lot of my YouTube time is devoted to watching 2-Tone Tony play with randomized sprites, battle abilities, and items. He makes up stories to go with the randomness, too. For example, when a character rolled up with the “Engulf” command, the story became about how that person was secretly a ZoneEater trying to stop herself from eating everything in the world.

Yes? I only want it on a game card. I also want it for Switch 2. But if the upgrade is free like I heard, it should work fine.

But if I get busy in early December, it could just as easily be forgotten until Summer of next year. I still haven’t bought Ghost Trick of Switch, and it was one of my favorite game experiences of all time (up there with Katamari and Super Mario Galaxy for wow-factor).

Based on recommendations from here, I picked up the Trails in the Sky Chapter 1 demo. My wife finds the dialogue dated and cliché. Me too, but in a good way. It’s refreshingly old-fashioned. The game is kinda okay, too. With Octopath Traveler Zero around the corner, I probably won’t pick it up after the demo ends.
