Those are rookie numbers, I’m over 9000
That honestly looks more like the front of a credit card (or similar card shaped things) than a digital interface.

Games@lemmy.world•Valve Addresses Steam Machine Anti-Cheat Concerns, Says It's Working Towards SupportEnglish
2·21 days agoIn the mean time you can check on protondb how much of your steam library is compatible with Linux using this link https://www.protondb.com/profile
- You can either link via the Steam api, or if your profile is public paste your profile link into the input.
- Then select the “By ProtonDB rating” and see how much of your current library is compatible.
Of the 474 games I have most are Gold or higher. 2 are Bronze (crashes often), 2 are Borked and 13 are awaiting more data to be rated. 60 even have native clients.

Games@lemmy.world•Valve Addresses Steam Machine Anti-Cheat Concerns, Says It's Working Towards SupportEnglish
8·22 days agoThey have been investing in proton heavily to make games work on Linux, most of my library just work out of the box, some with parameters and a very small amount of my 300+ games do not work. So when are you going to get your GabeCube?

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft AI CEO pushes back against critics after recent Windows AI backlash — "the fact that people are unimpressed ... is mindblowing to me"English
1·28 days agoBecause the Steam UI is limited to their software, you would still need a desktop environment and they chose KDE Plasma, if you want you could can customize it to look like anything or just replace it with Gnome (or other desktop environment for that you fancy). My guess to why they would not do this is you would create a dependency on you as a company to apply/check the changes for every update, instead of just relying on the desktop supplier (KDE) if you use the default UI.

Yes, Steam Machine is optimized for gaming, but it’s still your PC. Install your own apps, or even another operating system. Who are we to tell you how to use your computer? - https://store.steampowered.com/sale/steammachine

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•I wish the Steam Controller used AA batteriesEnglish
2·1 month agoYou cannot charge those, please do not try unless you like the smell of burnt chemicals or a house fire (or both), alkaline batteries are not rechargeable. There are lithium rechargeable batteries with the same form factor (AA, AAA, etc.) or if you use older ones there are also NI-MH or NI-CD (really old).

2·4 months agoIt’s probably Windows update “fixing” you drivers by updating them to the Windows version because it is newer. I had to turn off Windows driver updates, because it kept updating my already fully working 5.1 Dolby digital driver to a newer one that only has dual channel audio, and it also broke the optional optical out my sound card supports (and has installed).
Because using docker can sometimes cause ownership issues if not properly configured in your docker-compose.yml, I just added an alias to ~/.zshrc to rectify that.
-edit- Only run this script in your user owned directories, e.g. anything from ~/ (or /home/<your_username>) you might otherwise cause ownership issues for your system.
## Set ownership of files/folders recursively to current user alias iownyou="sudo chown -R $USER:$GROUP"

World News@lemmy.world•Austria to tighten gun laws after recent school shooting. Applying for a gun license will require taking a serious psychological test. There will be a "cooling off phase" after ordering a weapon.English
1·6 months agoI mean I guess it’s a better system then just being able to walk into a random store and just buy a gun. In my country we have a pretty strict gun control you need have not committed any crimes and be able to get a document from the government saying so, you’ll also need the following;
- be part of a gun club, which itself has a cool down period of several months and they can refuse you for whatever reason they see fit
- have a minimum amount of shooting days per year
- have to participate in the yearly contest for one of the different disciplines possible at the club
- have to be a continuous member of previously mentioned club at least one year before you can even apply for your first licence
- your first licence can only be in a single .22 weapon, this weapons will be registered to you as a person and your place of residence
- your gun and ammo needs to be in separate safe’s, also the gun may not be stored in a loaded state
- after you have the weapon you will be checked at random and you need to be able to show the weapon at the visiting police officer immediately, or if you cannot show it at the local police station within a few days after the visit. if they visit they will check if your safe('s) are properly mounted to wall/floor
- have to extend your licence yearly
- if you fail the checks or violate any laws you will lose your license and you will need to either store your weapon(s) at a registered location or sell them, evidence of both will need to be shared with the police. you can apply for a new licence after one year of probation
- the maximum amount of weapons you can have registered at any time is 5
Firearms are either considered a part of sport (hence the clubs) of for hunting which has their own subset of rules. You can never have any full automatic firearms, those are considered for military use only.

How do you even know of this game?!?!
