Well that sounds like more of a national security threat than a private email server.

Fair enough and I’m sorry if I sounded judgy. I I know it doesn’t apply to everyone, but I think a major reason for Amazon’s success is that they’ve made acquiring things too convenient. A lot of people (I know I did) fall into the trap of over-consumption. I’ve come to conclude that spending my money ought to come with a little friction.

I do this thing where if I need something, I go to a store and buy it. It has resulted in a lot less buying of useless stuff that I didn’t really need and ends up just taking up space. YMMV

This sounds more like a stalker than an aide.

He also used “premium ritual economy,” which I just…bleh…

yah, who’d a thunk?

I’d have thought that would merit a promotion with that outfit.

That’s so weird. I haven’t gotten any of these vague confirmation emails. Oh, that’s right. I remember why. Because I don’t buy a thing from that fucking oligarch’s website.

Now that’s fucked up. I don’t care who you are.

Me either. Feels weird to be complaining about it on the internet though. It’s almost like the solution is self-evident. Oh, well. It’ll come to me.

If it’ll mow down bollards, it’ll mow down toddlers. It can’t distinguish between the two.

If AI is so wonderful they could afford to put up solar panels to power the data centers.

I’ve literally seen my own shadow from the starlight (new moon, clear sky, remote Utah desert), and I agree with that guy. I don’t see how they get all those shapes.

We must obey our robot overlords. I don’t make the rules.

Huh. Seems like more countries than that ought to ban it.

I have an aunt in Laramie and one in Cheyenne. Between their family and friends, I think I’ve met pretty much all the Democrats in Wyoming. Nah, just kidding. There might be a couple more up in Thermop.

I been wondering how long it was going to take for someone official to realize that “prediction market” just means “gambling.”
When I lived in Colorado I had to go do a field visit to a site in northern Georgia, and I was talking to my colleague to get directions to the site. He kept saying stuff like, “Are you sure you can drive here? There’s a huge mountain in between here and Atlanta.” I told him I drive in the mountains all the time and I was confident I would be just fine. “OK, if you’re sure. Be careful, it’s really a huge mountain.” He really went on about how treacherous the drive would be. Well, I made it to the site. Never did see any mountain. 😝

Whatever the most marketable one was about ten years ago.
“Move fast and break things” always sounded like terrible words to live by to me. Maybe more people will agree now that we see some of the broken things are people.
