We might be working off different translations, as in the NIV Exodus, God only hardens Pharaoh’s heart during the last, desperate assault against the Hebrews as they are crossing the Red Sea. Before then, it’s pretty clear to me that Pharaoh’s heart GETS hardened, but not explicitly by God per se. I was always taught to do the ‘right’ thing, and let God worry about His own plans. His ways are higher than our ways, and His plans are higher than our plans.

Yes, but the sections that actually deal with Pharaohs hardened heart only said that “it was hardened”, up until the last go, where it’s made explicit that “God hardened Pharaohs heart”
