So, do you think that was kayfabe, or is Chuckie T actually finished? He got to say shit on TV, and had an epic final match - but if he’s not coming back as either a wrestler or manager i’m going to miss him - the Best Friends & Dark Order were both my favourite things from early days AEW outside of the Bucks, Omega, Hangman early story that culminated in the original Stadium Stampede.
I guess given the references from Kenny he’s written out until a point where he can compete in a Blood & Guts match; but if the write-out was so he could get surgery I thought the way it worked is that the timeline for recovery was pretty open ended.
“I wanna be a good boy”
From what i’ve seen of Thekla she is awesome too, so hopefully she does show up on Forbidden Door because adding more from Stardom to the women’s side of those matches will be rad.
So good.
I was flying into Brisbane Australia years ago and halfway through the immigration / customs section I saw 3-4 border control agents around this absolute giant of a man, super tanned, jacked, blonde hair. Initially I wondered if it was a drugs bust but everybody was way to jovial and chatting and only later did I realise it was Billy who I think was in town for some indie show in 'straya. He looks big on TV, even bigger IRL.
Yeah there’s a difference between having young wrestlers wrestling, and young wrestlers posing for glamour photo books & whatnot I guess.
Probably a lesson to not clap back at Tony if you’re not tippy toppy in WWE and certain in your contract though.
That’s the one thing im hoping - that this footage & the angle between Bucks / FTR is the last we ever hear of Punk in AEW.
I agree what was the point of airing it, I guess we’ll see if the Bucks v FTR match gets any kinda bump from it but I think they could have done essentially the same angle without actually airing anything.
The trouble is stuff is so polarised between WWE v AEW and Punk Fans vs Punk Haters that I think everybody is just seeing what they want to see in the video.
I think im just going to go back to watching NJPW, but would have been on the AEW / Punk Unhappy side - and to me it just looks like a grown man acting like a baby and a bully instead of doing his job. I suspect there was probably more post-match that will never get aired that might make him look even worse (and vindicate TK’s response) but the whole thing is just dumb and beyond time to move on.
Is that Chris Hero walking back through the camera shot afterwards head in hands?
To me the only interesting part of this is that WBD are so keen on it; some folks are wondering if that’s because some part of non disclosure/disparagement might have been breached but you’d send in lawyers if that were the case. So really it just comes down to correcting Punk’s version of events and if it were me the only reason i’d be so keen to do so would be because the way he has portrayed it is so far from the truth that its reputation harming to leave it uncorrected.
He likely is (and should be) so far removed from travel that you’re talking about several layers of delegation. The alleged failures of the person organising the travel (bear in mind these issues are from an equally one sided reading from the boys) is miles removed from TK, and it should be - there’s many things far more important he should think about other than travel bookings.
That’s a pretty wild take when its clear the travel which is the alleged problem here was entirely delegated.
Other than learning to work the hard-cam and WWE style Giulia surely has no need for much training from NXT; she’s already good.
I wish they’d not been fired, but I worry its notable that the discussion they say they had with the travel person isn’t included in any of what they’ve posted.
Although, even if they have no showed a bunch, Tk made this a story by commenting on the question rather than deflecting or giving a non-answer.
The shot at Hangman really illuminates that huh. Hanger helped build AEW, but Punk takes sole credit for a $1m house that was really only put in jeopardy by Punk’s ego taking such a beating from a single line in a promo.
He wants his friends to think they’re being punished. Its just shit-stirring.
A great many people really like OSX; its been a long time since i’ve daily driven it but there’s stuff about the way it works that feels more efficient than windows, and easier than linux. That’s not something that appeals to everyone but its obviously worked for a lot of folks.
So back in the day it was about getting to use OSX (and in other cases apps that were OSX only, or just ran better in OSX) but not having to pay so much for the hardware. That’s a calculation that to me really only made sense for desktops; as for quite a long time Apple’s laptops weren’t actually massively more expensive than a similarly spec’d windows laptop.*
Overtime i’d argue that linux desktops have caught up to a lot of what made OSX feel good; but they’re not like for like even now. Though take that with a grain of salt as I spend more time in cli/tui nowadays across my macbook, work windows laptop and various linux boxes i’ve got running :)
*The thing was that the average windows laptop was under-spec compared to a Macbook Pro so the latter always looked way more pricey.
Come now, you can’t start a statement with let’s get serious, and then proceed to “billionaire toy collector”.
Setting aside that part of your critique; WWE’s style isn’t that much slower or safer and because of the significant increase in the number of matches I would wager it tends to average out in the long run anyway. The injury rates for both companies are pretty high. And WWE’s health screening process OK’d CM Punk getting back into the ring where he immediately got injured again so i’m sure Will would have passed it just fine.
I think its worth bearing in mind that professional sports people compete injured all the time, and “career ending” can mean a lot of different things.
Eg I don’t think we’re talking never be able to walk again type of injury - but it could just be something that he will lose range of motion, or be in pain until its fixed surgically and then once fixed he won’t be in pain or will have full motion but its not safe to risk the repair from that point on.
And, of course, the whole thing could be a work :)
