My cat won’t go out even when I leave the door open.

Putting these things on workers in a warehouse to boost “productivity” is some dystopian nightmare shit.
Billionaires today: “How can we get even more work out of one person?”
Billionaires soon: “Is there some way we can just put their brain in a robot? And, would that brain still have any rights, or would I just own it? Could we just grow the brain in the lab? That’s all we really need, until we get the AI thing working right.”

Should be mediCAID for all.
Seriously, tho…
Most people are decent and so don’t consider the potential problems with renting out a room.
There’s a lot more to being a landlord than just throwing an ad up and taking anyone who wants to rent. Background checks only tell you some of what they did in the past, not what they will do. There are no guarantees.
I have two rooms in my decent house I’d be willing to rent out for $400/mo. But, there’s the risk of taking on renters and then being legally liable for all the issues they bring with them. You never know what they’re going to do, and you can get stuck with them for months while you try to evict them. It can be a real fucking nightmare, to the point that I could lose my house in the most extreme situations.
So, no, thank you. I won’t be renting out rooms for an affordable amount, no matter how much I’d like to try to help.

I’m perfectly capable of repairing bicycles, and I wouldn’t mind having a job.
Too bad there’s far more to the requirements than that.
I’m 60, and I live in the U.S. That’s the rub.

“In America they applaud people who create wealth,”
No, we fucking don’t. The filthy rich in America applaud people who steal from the poor, just like the world over.
Moths, off and on.

I finally got to handle a demo pair at Best Buy a few weeks back. They feel cheap and creaky. No one mentions this.

Maybe it’s been long enough. I’ll rewatch the first half, anyway.
I’m running out of things to watch, so thanks for the reminder.

Frank is a superhero in that show, with all he survives.

Concrete. I’ve never tried it. The only concrete I’ve had done is a sidewalk in my side yard, and half of my driveway due to a plumbing issue. I wasn’t about to start with that.
If I ever get AC, I’ll try pouring a small pad for the condenser, just to do it once. That is if I’m still fit enough to do it whenever it may happen.

There’s one thing Windows does that I miss. The big preview pane in file explorer.

Did you ask AI about this? Because it sounds like you asked AI about this.
This is not a thing. There’s no connection. Don’t bother.

I was out working in my garage a couple of months ago, when a guy comes around (walking through yards instead of back to the sidewalk and then up the driveway, which was the first thing that pissed me off). He approaches me and starts going on about the “major hail storm” a few weeks back and how they’d do a free evaluation of my roof. When I told him the hail was pea-sized and lasted less than ten minutes, he blew that off and kept trying to get me to engage. I closed the garage door on him to get him to fuck off.

You’re very fortunate to have traveled that “small” rectangle.

Oh, good. The women who were forced to get on a ride in dresses, famous for raising their dresses. now can have shorts, because they couldn’t before.

and will have to negotiate a new contract to do that also
The workers, desperate to get back to work, will settle for a worse deal after being unemployed for a year.
Dog only love, not judge. Throw ball, please.
It could also be solved by not sending fragile humans to a wholly inhospitable planet in the first place.
