I’m not going to pretend that the monarch chooses them. The prime minister chooses them and has done for a looooooong time.

Half of the UK parliament is chosen by the monarch.
No.
The other half is chosen through the problematic and undemocratic first past the post voting system.
Yes.
UK streets have CCTV everywhere.
It’s not the CCTV you want to worry about. The CCTV is overwritten regularly and typically goes nowhere. It’s the internet-connected stuff you wanted to worry about, and the blanket surveillance by Google and meta. Carrying a smartphone and worrying about CCTV while you post pictures of yourself where LLMs can scrape them is utterly irrational.
It’s time for people to admit to themselves that the UK, especially England, is a dictatorship.
No, just a half-police state. But at least you tend not to get murdered by the police for being black in charge of a vehicle in the UK, and the healthcare is free.
This, though, this is AWFUL and they went OUT OF THEIR WAY to deny these people justice. If you deny the defendants the right to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, you have denied them justice.

I’ve had a few bosses who were great at shielding the team from shit and sticking up for the department in front of everyone. I’d do absolutely anything for them and we all pitched in because it was us.
I applied for my current role partly because I knew who my boss would be and I knew he’d be great. He has my back and I have his. Same is true for the whole team.

Trump sacked them all in America woohoo!

Lady Justice and the Constitution were your personal plaything, Roberts, but you prostituted them for Trump and now that you’ve made them completely subservient to his crazy stupid nastiness, you’ve realised he doesn’t need your permission for anything anymore and just expects your compliance. You’re his toy now and you want the American people, who you fucked over for decades, to supply the respect for the constitution and the law that you squandered so fully?

They do, but he’s realising now that he has made himself impotent and Trump correctly fully expects him to do whatever fucknonsense his whims lead him to.

Awww, did some nasty journalist say that you volunteer to wear a leash for Trump daily? Diddums. You used to think you were cleverly manipulating the constitution behind the scenes for your own political ends and were being subtle about it, but now everyone says you’re his bitch and you know full well he’s a moron who shouldn’t be in charge of you, so you lost any self respect you ever had because you realised Trump has no less contempt for you than he has for any temporarily useful stupid idiot who swallowed his lies and was used by him to cement power and stroke his own ego.

More of a liar than an idiot in this case.
But ruling that the supreme court can’t intervene over Trump’s official acts, that was stupid. That was stupid in the extreme.

Yup. In the uk, you pay the same charge for each prescription you pick up, whatever it is (or you get an annual flat fee pass if you get more than one a month). So if the pharmacy only found an expensive version, that’s a them problem, not a me problem.

I never used to eat carrot and hated it ever since primary school and the soggy disks that taste truly awful. I don’t mind it in things as long as it’s small. Carrot cake is fine.
So I started trying the smallest bit raw after my wife cut up the carrots ready to boil them, and it didn’t taste too bad. I kept doing it more and more. I now quite like raw carrot, and I can eat small amounts of cooked carrot as long as it’s not overdone and still has a bit of bite.
Start small, do it regularly, build up over time. You can learn to eat anything with a bit of persistence.
Hope this helps.

That’s… not religious freedom, Jenna. That’s the opposite of religious freedom, and the government policing religion is the opposite of what the founding fathers wanted.

Darn right it is.
And being able to count beyond ten is elitist woke nonsense.
This one right here, officer.
The prime minister writes this speech. The king has to read it out word for word as he officiality opens the new session of parliament.
