Europe@feddit.org•Europe is at a turning point. Timid EU elites should take lessons from The LeopardEnglish
1·7 months agoIsn’t this another way of saying that many poor countries have managed to get out of poverty and gain their independence?
Not necessarily, but I couldn’t say without knowing the numbers. It depends on where those parts of the total have gone to, right? Some has gone to China, for sure, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot has also gone to the US.

13·7 months agoI found this quite interesting although the opinion piece doesn’t really say much. I think I can agree that we Europeans, and I’m starting with myself here, have been content with voting every four years and otherwise not thinking about or discussing how to stop this slow decline. But our politicians aren’t delivering. I mean, look at the lack of political imagination we’re getting here in Germany, all these small cuts to slowly make life worse bit by bit instead of serious policy to revive the continent at large.
In my opinion we need greater cooperation with each other if we want to have a chance of success in a world dominated to a larger degree by other players. At least we need to have these conversations.

2·1 year agoI also do it, but because I brew with the Switch. The glass is so thick that I have always preheated it based on common advice, but maybe I should do some taste tests where I try without.

3·1 year agoJust to anti-clickbait the stupid YouTube thumbnail question: He finds that rinsing bleached filters is no longer necessary from a taste perspective. And all Hario filters now seem to come from the same Japanese supplier, so there are no longer some that are better than others.
Perfekt, danke! Leider gibt es weder Xtrackers noch Amundi für den FTSE All-World, aber Amundi hat ein gutes Angebot mit einer niedrigen TER bei ETF146

3·2 years agoI wouldn’t go that far, but they ripped off the person who gifted me the thing on exchange rate. We live in Europe and she ended up paying something like $100 more than regular price, before duty and VAT. Customer service just stopped responding to her, which I don’t like. If you’re in the US they’re probably nicer.

3·2 years agoI also got one as a Christmas gift some years ago and it’s actually really good. I don’t have anything positive to say about the company or their prices but this upside down Dutch oven really can make a huge difference for oven spring.

I accidentally upgraded by blindly using the
