I saw it all the time. It drove me nuts. I’m not sure how you literally never see it, because my clean and fresh installs of windows always worked this way until I did a RegEdit update to kill the websearch in it.

I always dug into RegEdit to disable this crap. And somehow, each time, it was a different series of steps.

12·27 days agoI like how whoever generated that mural looked at it and was like “yeah this should pass”. Or maybe it’s a manager who requested it, idk. Regardless, it’s wild this got actually put up.
What does Cinnamon have that makes you like it over something like KDE?

They weren’t actively being accused at that time and, again, that’s not the star of david.

91·1 month agoDrives me nuts with games too. Some games NEED a huge userbase for balance and ELO and whatnot, but it’s always wild to see a solo or team-based PvE game billed as “dead” because it has only 5k concurrent players.

Yes. The left is horrible at messaging, both in terms of word-choice AND in terms of attitude. I fundamentally agree with left-leaning ideals far more than right-leaning ideals, but holy shit there are people who are just dog-shit at the messaging, and somehow that messaging sticks the hardest.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Don't fix the problem just change the parameters
1·2 months agoUnderstanding the concept is fast. Getting good at sight-reading a clock face actually takes time to get familiar with it. If you only ever really see the clock in school, and You can choose to ignore it for phones or other digital clocks, you’re never gonna get good enough at it that you’ll be as fast as checking a phone.
They will, once again, choose to “move past” the event and not create any actual fixes.

It’s just straight up wrong. One of the reasons humans have done so well is because we’re extremely empathetic and cooperative. Selfish species tend to do poorly, with the majority of species being cooperative, even if not quite as cooperative as us.
Or rather, they really hope the scorpion isn’t lying yet again.
Yeah because these anti-woke crowds literally see themselves as the rebels fighting against the oppressive empire.
As much as I’d like humanity to improve, it feels off to task my not-yet-existent child with trying to fix humanity. It still simply doesn’t feel right to bring a child into this existence, and it still doesn’t feel right to task them with fixing it all.
If I had more hope that very serious improvements are guaranteed, I might be more keen on it. As it currently sits, it’s not my unborn child’s job to fix what I failed to fix.
This here is straight up one of the biggest reasons I do not want a kid. Right now it sure seems like the best thing I could do for my children is not force existence upon them.
It’s like if 1000 years from now someone tried to romanticize Nazis or Russian soldiers.
And they will. It’s such a bummer knowing they’ll turn into some trope-y aggressive dorks or something.

The last few times I even had to disable it, there was no setting for it. RegEdit was the way to disable the search-in-start-menu stuff.
But regardless, I’m still talking about seeing this issue on a fresh install. That’s definitely not something that happens because I fiddle with settings.
