11·1 month agoone of the things i really like about lemmy is the public mod log, and instances like blahaj.zone that have a well defined culture with good admins that help weed out most of the makers. drama and troublesome users are still present don’t get me wrong, but it’s far less obvious trolls or people with some hate fetish. i feel much more at home here than i ever did on Reddit

your example of how likes and dislikes can be interpreted on different platforms further reinforces my idea that likes and dislikes are an inherently bad metric that will be interpreted wildly differently between users, and that there should be better ways to interact with our posts than just two arrows.
