Thanks for your input. Web dev seems great and I’ve considered trying to deploy some kind of useful REST API, like for computing directions from one place to another on campus, probably with FastAPI in Python. Doing something with Docker is also on my todo-list…
I just started Forces of Production the other day. It’s interesting.
The other day I started reading a Chinese scifi novel 猫城记 Cat City/Cat Country. I thought about trying to translate it even though it’s above my reading level by just looking up all the words as I go. But I’m below that threshold of 95% understanding or whatever and have to look up many phrases on each page.
40 minutes is completely workable!
Think it’d be pretty easy to tell a kid you can’t, or just not inform them that there is an opt-out process in the first place, but I could get it if some people object to the lying by omission
Makes sense, a limit as strict as 8 minutes for the youngest kids seriously inhibits basic communication, so really this either has to iterated on or a great deal of parents will just opt out so it has no effect.
It’s a nitpick, but we mean the class right? Gotha programme etc., workers as individuals need to contribute some value to the commons and society more broadly, sort of thing. But that’s still the workers getting everything: First as an individual and second as a member of socialist society.
Let’s see if the less clever of the bourgeois can figure out the falling rate of profit / secular stagnation
Wow, you made me wanna move there, very cool. It’s really too bad the geopolitical conditions are such that we can’t, say, go there on a working holiday visa.
May we live to see a revolutionary socialist restoration, but more than a restoration, a forging anew <3
It is an understandable but misguided sentiment. There is plenty of work for the communist orgs to do, I think, and some of the more progressive community orgs may even be friendly or ambivalent to the communists. Maybe instead we should be relieved that our relatives and neighbours are finding ways to try to improve their situation, even though they lack a radical perspective and critique of capitalist society. We know charity has limits and deficiencies. Does anywhere have a food bank that has good enough food in good enough quantities, with no hoops to jump through?
Wow, that rules! What is your party called & does it have an online presence, like a program etc available to read?
Also on a silly note, Does the district name Borgerhaut have anything to do/ contain cognates with “burgher” and “haute”? a name something like the High Burgher [District]? Burgher Heights? :P
Thanks for your viewpoint and I think I’ll do that and keep working towards my first dev co-op etc. Nice to have the flexibility to transition down the line.
