
Yes, of course most people have things they dont want to read a post about. The way they accomplish that is by not clicking links to discussions they have no interest in. Maybe we should consider that an option instead of one population exerting control over what another population occupying the same space can say in such a broad way?

Yes, that’s correct. While I dont use Twitter or Facebook, I don’t subscribe to every community on Lemmy, and in the communities i do subscribe to, I don’t open every post – least of all the ones i actively don’t want to see the content of. It’s very easy to simply not read the things I have no interest in seeing, and if I do happen across a discussion I’m uninterested in, I realize ky mistake and close it.
This really isn’t rocket science, dude. Have some personal responsibility for your media diet and stop worrying about everyone else’s behavior. It’s a far less stressful way to live.
