Look into co-housing communities or eco-villages. There are ways to do this even within our overly bureaucratic system.

News@lemmy.world•There’s a growing number of Americans who think violence might be necessary to get the country back on trackEnglish
25·3 months agoWhile I agree that non-violent is the way to go, I think we need to change our definition of “violence.”
Property destruction should not be considered violent. Especially when precautions are specifically taken to ensure that no people were harmed during act of property destruction or sabotage.
On the other side of things, actions such as destroying wildlife habitat or polluting the air, water, and soil systems of the Earth should be considered “violence.” It is violence towards all of humanity, and towards life itself.
When does this patch come out?

6·4 months agoMaybe the plan should be to destroy fossil fuel infrastructure via Ecotage/eco-sabotage.
Maybe we can weaken and start dismantling the fascist government following the guidelines of the CIA’s Citizen Sabotage Field Manual from 1944.
Maybe we eat the rich.
So instead of asking what the plan is sarcastically, try asking it genuinely. Just because an answer sounds ridiculous and difficult, doesn’t mean it will fail. The discussion needs to lead towards finding which plan would be most effective and why/why not.

6·6 months agoThey probably knew… But the prison/military industrial complex incentivizes crime, as it perpetuates poverty. And more poverty means more people arewilling to work for less money. Cheaper labor equals higher profits.
So basically, capitalism goes brrrr.

News@lemmy.world•Hackers Can Remotely Trigger the Brakes on American Trains and the Problem Has Been Ignored for YearsEnglish
24·6 months agoConsidering how much rail regulations and budgets have been slashed in the past few years, we will probably end up using it as a feature. Safety hackers will need to make sure trains stop on the correct place/time, because there are only 1-2 employees for a 300 car train.
Or alternatively, tune in and subscribe for ‘Twitch Drives a Cargo Train!’

14·6 months agoI still think it’s about money, especially considering the size of the prison industrial complex. It just so happens that capitalism encourages cruelty when it’s profitable.

Their tanks may be old, but at least their citizens can buy a train or tram ticket for less than 1 euro in many cases.
I’d rather have that in my country than newer tanks.

10·6 months agoI feel as though generating these “fake” resumes is one of the top uses for LLMs. Millions of people are probably using LLMs to write their own resumes, so generating random ones seems on par with reality.

Agree 100%. We’re literally living through the 6th mass extinction event.
The worst part is that it’s solvable, but not profitable, so it isn’t happening.
Anyway, gotta get back to work…
