I think Nkrumah’s analysis of neocolonialism is most relevant to the conditions of the modern world’s imperial periphery and he does not advocate for decentralization. For semi-periphery countries and core countries I think theories of colonialism can be applied to internal super-exploited populations. For those people I think the goal is to try to use dual power and, as they are a minority population fighting against a much stronger state and supremacist society, a decentralized organization might help them, maybe.

I mean, bourgeois women do exist. It feels like through word choice this poster is implying that bourgeois men are the real problem and bourgeois women either aren’t “in power” enough to be mentioned or that they aren’t as much of a problem. They might have picked up this phrase from liberal feminists, it very subtly signals liberal feminist positions. There are a bunch of little quirks of the vocabulary that tell me this person is probably a radlib, like the fact that they seem to say in the fourth comic that the demonization of immigrants is to distract an otherwise revolutionary class of white people (implied). They don’t center the immigrants but rather the people who hate the immigrants as misguided, which is something a white radlib or left-communist might say because they don’t like the idea of being part of a reactionary settler labor aristocracy class whose violence towards its internal colonized populations of black people, indigenous people, and immigrants isn’t a misguided error caused by their ruling class fooling them, but violence to maintain their position over an underclass. There’s also the third comic that critiques “men in power” on an individual basis and not a systemic one, in fact, the comment never once says anything about systems, which is, at best, a kind of putschist position; “Just remove these men in power and everything will be fine,” or at worst, a pro-capitalist social democrat position. It’s a bad comic.

It’s like if I said “art shouldn’t be commodified into slop,” then you responded, “well, given that art commodification already exists, the question is who controls the slop industry.” I’m saying LLMs and AI image generation just shouldn’t exist as soon as we control them. We should just recycle the e-waste. The technology itself is based on manufacturing more consumption. I don’t see why just because the technology exists we need to have a People’s chatbot or AI image generator. “The technology already exists, therefore we must build a billion datacenters” is the exact same ridiculous argument used as apologia for AI companies to excuse their actions as inevitable scientific progress that cannot be resisted.
