You are a useful idiot.

You are a useful idiot.

I completely agree.
The solution to this is to run your own instance or try to find one that aligns with how you think moderation should be done.

Go watch a disney movie.

You don’t have to just talk to yourself. Part of federating means that you will be able to communicate with other instances, at least until they decide to power-trip and defederate from your instance.
Still, you would have another instance that is run the way you think it should. This means other people who share your philosophy will have another place to go.
It won’t happen overnight, but you can do your part to build the fediverse you want to see.

I highly recommend running your own instance where you get to set the rules.
90% of the current instances are moderated by power-tripping losers. It will take people smarter than them in order to do things differently.

I’ll admit, moderation of the fediverse sucks pretty much like moderation anywhere else on the internet right now.
It’s a cultural problem where all of the corrupt, malicious children took the place of their parents and have no issue abusing power when it suits them.
Unlike reddit, the fediverse allows people to host their own instances where they can set the rules. Don’t be afraid of ‘defederation.’ It’s a scare tactic used by the previously mentioned crowd to make it seem like we don’t have a choice.
We do.

No, I’m still talking about indies in general.
I gave 1 example because giving more isn’t worth my time.
the majority of game design innovation has come from indie games for many years.
Okay, buddy.

This isn’t just a violent game.
😂

Play Symphony of the Night instead of the indie knockoff.
The indie market is just another tool to reduce people’s standards.

I’ll honestly never understand the appeal of non-lethal playthroughs.
Yeah, it barely takes more skill and you can brag to your friends or whatever, but a huge appeal of violent games is actually killing people.

I think you should lower your standards for people going forward.
You will be surprised less often that way.

Hollywood culture is what’s ruining the game industry.

I suggest you play some classics.
Indie games pale in comparison.

I’m noticing it happens with all companies.
They start out small and can’t afford to pay businesspeople to figure out how to fuck over their customers as hard as possible.
Then, after the company is successful thanks to the hard work of the workers, the business-school people start applying in droves to make sure every company operates like gas stations across the street from each other.
It results in companies making decisions like having higher budgets for advertising than what they spend on actually making a product, because the data says it will make them more money and stupid customers keep reinforcing it.
Nothing will meaningfully improve until our culture stops valuing people based on their wealth. I have no hope for that to happen in my lifetime.

I like the way you think.
Charge the morons as much as they’re willing to pay!

Just emulate them.

Useful idiots keep telling me people won’t work for free.
They say that if we don’t pay businesses the prices they demand, then nothing would get done.
Why are people so stupid?

Shame on anyone in the military following these orders.
I keep trying to explain this, but nobody really seems to listen.
The reason why things are so expensive is so the people taking money from us can use that to abuse vulnerable people.
Things could be cheaper if we all had higher standards, but we’d rather fight for the people ripping us off than admit we’re being ripped off in the first place.
Yeah, I think all of those games are trash.
But I’m glad you like them.
