I’m new here in the fediverse… why she is hated here? I’m out of the loop on something?
only 150gb? you have to pump these number up! I have approx 400gb of mods (GoS Modpack)
just a quick question, any reason on why they do it…? I find it counterintuitive
there is always bad actors that get everyone else in trouble or put them all in a bad light… :(

Fediverse@piefed.social•What do you want most from the Interstellar app?English
3·7 months agohey! been using the app this week and is being great so far, but one point that irks me is if I’m in the notifications section and press the back button, I expect to go back to the feed or previous section I was, but it just closes the app and I have to see my reflection on the screen.
the other things I think has been mentioned, like, support for more piefed settings like polls and the like
thanks for this app!
ok, who is the one that is pumping the average up so much?

World News@beehaw.org•Scientists prove that fish suffer "intense pain" for at least 10 minutes after catch, calls made for reformsEnglish
10·7 months agoyeah, killing the animals so you can consume their flesh, after all their lives being in a enclosed space designed to maximise the profits, isn’t bad or torture for the animals. the bad things happening to them from that life is just a byproduct of wanting to use their corpses for other things, so it can be considered torture, right?
it doesn’t matter what is the explicit or direct intent, they are being abused, mistreated and tortured, just for personal and human gain.
you can torture other people physically, emotionally or psychologicaly without it being the direct intent for your actions, but the torture will still be there.

81·7 months agoyou can’t kill ethically a fish, cow, pig, dog, etc.
sometimes there are “humane” times you have to kill, for some reason, another animal, because they are really suffering and it’s impossible to bring them to health. anything else, is unnecessary.
There are a lot of alternatives for a plant based diet, and being healthy, you have to be informed to know what to eat, and with which thing combine it (rice and beans, together, are a complete protein). there is tofu, seitan, different types of grains and legumes that are protein complete or that you can complete between them
the posts and comments will still live in other instances, but yeah, they should be looking for another one

18·7 months agothey don’t want to think about it, or they directly think that all animals doesn’t feel pain (or that the pain they suffer it’s not important because they are just animals and “we as humans, are above them”.
As a kid I liked to go fishing with my step father, and we (or at least I) never thought about what the fish felt, as they were so different to us, and they taught us that this was normal and fun.
It was years later that I really thought about it.
maybe i got confused because of the heavy man and bridge being on the two paths… Also, no way that “heavy man” can stop a trolley
im ootl or something?

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•When the requirements are "final"English
6·7 months agoNo matter what they say… the requirements are never truly final. They’re just lurking in the shadows, waiting for a rewrite. Much like a Sith.

In my work, for years they didn’t knew I’m vegan (granted, i work mostly remotely and go to the office one or two weeks every few months, as its in a different city), but once i mentioned why i didn’t grab x item from the cafeteria menu, and just the lentils, i casually mentioned it.
Now, for some reason, that person that i was with is the one that mention to everyone in almost every conversation that im vegan, almost unprompted, when for some reason somebody is discussing about food.
I know that the coworker hasn’t been a dick and showed interest when making questions and all, but i don’t really understand why it has to announce that Im vegan if i haven’t do it nor pushed my views onto others coworkers
