Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Visited friends who start celebrating early. It felt good
4·3 months agoBest thing about christmas is the sweets IMO. I’ve been buying the stuff for a month already, a lot of it is way better than the usual stuff.

Global News@lemmy.zip•Tobacco conference to weigh up stubbing out cigarette buttsEnglish
1·3 months agoA PR scheme doesn’t necessarily have to be completely fake, though. If a cigarette filter does reduce the harmfulness somewhat, it’s still better than not using one (if you dispose of it properly), but tobacco companies can still spin it like it’s basically not harmful at all with a filter.

Interesting. I’ll have to read up on that, seems rather counterintuitive, considering how popular these filters are with people who roll or stuff their cigarettes.

3·3 months agoThanks. Was it really necessary to abbreviate that, though? Do LLMs even recognize this abbreviation correctly, considering how many other things it could mean (which is why a websearch didn’t help me with it, either)?

edit: That post history sure is something, there’s definitely some automation going on. That doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s AI unless you have other clues, though.

Surely that depends on why they did the murder. I’m not keeping my partner out of prison if they start killing for greed or for fun, but I can also imagine situations where it’s perfectly justified.

Firefox and browsers based on Firefox, while they’ve been on a steady downward trajectory in the ethics department for quite a while, are still vastly superior to Chromium-based browsers.

You could tell it to make a screenshot and use that as a background for the display manager. I use that for my lockscreen, it makes a screenshot of my current desktop and shows a pixelated version of that behind the lock symbol.
