1·4 months agoAmazing, will read this in full. SW:A has been my first 40k Skirmisher after not enjoying Broad Scale 40k anymore and I think I liked it better than the Kill Team iterations (may be nostalgia though).

2·4 months agoI heard of it when I was tired of mtg/witch and people mentioned it’s run by community now and allows proxy play at competitive events, so it can basically be played for free. I then got some cards and was amazed to discover how great and fun that game is. Got really into it, didn’t have time to play the last few months though unfortunately.

3·4 months agoYou are in for a great news! After FFG shut it down, a player-run non profit collective continued to release cards and provide tournament support. Their sets are amazing and the community is still going strong. (Not on Lemmy so much unfortunately, some players are on mastodon but most is happening in Discord)

2·5 months agoAll I want is a nice “The last stand” mode.
While I like building fat bases in other games, I think the shift in DOW II, focused on controlling mission points and only small bases, was pretty good in terms of matching the lore.
First row: Imperium (Human), Eldar, Dark Eldar, Tyranids Second: Tau, Orks, Khorne, Nurgle Third: Slaanesh, Tzeenth, Necrons

I heard their latest live shows have been amazing though, so I’ll keep looking forward to get to one of those at some point.

Fortunately, there’s some bands scratching the same itch, most famously Craven Idol. Amazing stuff
