What are your thoughts on polyamory?

If they are polyamorous, it’s a no. If they have been polyamorous before but say they’re looking for a monogamous relationship this time, also no. If they use the term “ethical non-monogamy” in a positive way, even if they claim they’re monogamous, straight in the fucking bin.

  • I played it a couple of years ago, before a lot of the patches, and still thought it was one of the better games I have never finished.

    spoiler

There is this quest line where a character is abducted, raped, tortured and kills herself after you rescue her. Afterwards, the main character and another are on a balcony and smoke, still processing the horrors they’ve witnessed. I had been off the smokes for a few months at that point, but still needed to go outside and do the same.

I uninstalled shortly after. Not out of disgust, I actually appreciated the game making me feel something, but it just felt right to stop at that point.

  • Damn, nobody say Megalobox yet?

The first season is a perfect rendition of the classic sports underdog story. It’s wonderfully animated with this gritty style that evokes the best 90’s hand drawn animation and a banger soundtrack. It’s not going to surprise you or challenge you, but it’s a great time cheering for the scrappy poor kid taking on the champ as always.

The second season, aka Megalobox: Nomad, is a uniquely thoughtful look into the fall from grace. Grief, loss, death, drug use, coming to terms with being past your prime. Season 1 being such a great rendition of the classic underdog story sets this up so well. For <reasons I wont disclose> Nomad was aimed perfectly at me when I saw it, but I don’t think you need <redacted> to love it. Also, the soundtrack is somehow even better.

I mean too be fair, neither search would have worked with the titles you gave in the OP. It’s possible you’re using a completely valid mirror or alternate link. The Spare Me Great Lord link also wasn’t tagged as English translated as the subs were only in the comments.

When you’re searching for obscure stuff like this you’ve got to try alternate titles and remove some of the filters. As Nyaa is a primarily English speaking audience, comments on a non-translated torrent likely are about translation.

The /r/Piracy megathread is a pretty good source if you can’t find anything on your usual sites: https://old.reddit.com/r/Piracy/wiki/megathread

  • I was making posts on it a little while ago while I was in the high highs of Season 2, but I have to be honest the later half was kind of disappointing on rewatch.

Jool’s super scream every episode she’s in of Season 3 caused me actual pain. I’m a little sensitive to sound, but even if you’re not this is still the most annoying shtick for a character ever imagined. John is also no longer devolving into madness, now he’s angsty and it’s a lot less entertaining. The one real standout episode is the one where D’Argo and John have to rescue Jool and Chiana after a bender. I have some problems with it, but the dynamic between the boys is very fun.

Season 4 ditches Jool, which is a huge plus, but the show is clearly running out of ideas at this point. It’s much lower energy and it’s recycling a lot of earlier stuff. John strapping a nuclear bomb to himself is a great moment, but it is just a moment in an otherwise pretty underwhelming three parter. This season is also the most problematic of the bunch. Rape, transphobia and the episode where it’s revealed D’Argo was a wife beater, but it’s okay because he didn’t kill her.
