It’s unfortunate that these days, many who have this freedom are trying to deprive others of it.

There is no paradox, we aren’t trying to deplatform you

We are trying to get rid of misinformation/disinformation and educate the populous well enough that they know you’re full of shit

          do not want to hear

The quote includes misinformation/disinformation, it is the part you “do not want to hear.”

The problem with it is people are stupid and easily swayed

If you think the quote is about protecting lies then you don’t understand Orwell

“Political language… is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.” – George Orwell

“All the war-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not fighting.” – George Orwell

“The Ministry of Peace concerns itself with war, the Ministry of Truth with lies, the Ministry of Love with torture and the Ministry of Plenty with starvation. These contradictions are not accidental , nor do they result from from ordinary hypocrisy: they are deliberate exercises in doublethink” – George Orwell
