I filled the vents in the Toxic Gas room with water, and they stopped spewing gas into the room. I left one vent as as proof of that.

I mean I filled the vents in the Toxic Gas room with water, but I left one vent as evidence that the vents filled with water were no longer spewing gas into the room.
