Midiclorians are actually kinda cool. The implcation is that in universe cannibalism would infact give you super powers. They don’t do anything with it but that is a fun idea.
I have seen some discourse that originally Lucas had some ideas about midiclorians being parasitic and ultimately antagonistic. It is unclear how much of that was just smoking weed with Harrison Ford or how much of that eventually got scrapped and mixed in with abandoned yhuzong-vong storylines.
