I’m pretty sure that racism exists outside of capitalism also.

I’m going to need some explanation as to how capitalism is the primary source of power for racism, so much so that you cannot be anti-racist without being anti-capitalist also.

It’s not that I disagree with the statement. It’s that the statement takes a massive leap when it says “racism gets its power from capitalism”, and I’m not able to follow.

I need a couple of steps between to fill the gap.

Why don’t you take the time to provide your sources?

Why do I need to scour all of the existing literature to verify a claim that someone else made that I feel dubious? It’s on the person who posited the initial claim to prove their claim.

After all, my tribe, which is a Native American tribe, hates people that are not Native Americans so much so that if they have a good reason to believe that somewhere back in your genealogy, 150 years, there’s a drop of white blood, you’re considered a white person.

So I have lived experience that throws some shade on the claim that all racism springs from capitalism because my tribe is not capitalistic.

Can you prove me wrong with verifiable external sources?

Racism is a tool of capitalism and imperialism to keep people divided and fighting with each other instead of seeing that they have more in common with each other than with billionaires of their same race. It is a divide and conquer tool to keep people from overthrowing the ruling class.

Racism still exists sans capitalism, so how does racism get its power from capitalism? I can see that it becomes a form of turbo-racism where every Tom, Dick, and Harry hates every Abdul, Rahim, and Schlomo, but even if we lived in a communist utopia, there would be a significant portion of the population that hates people because they have a different skin color or a different form of community.
