Why would blocking ad blockers in Firefox bring in another $150 million? From where?
Kickbacks from ad companies? Bribe from Google to remove adblockers from the second largest browser on the market after they decimated adblockers in Chrome? Google already pays them nearly that much to be the default search engine.
That’s my assumption, it would be interesting to hear the exact details, and if Mozilla has been approached regarding this already.
Yep, he’s just negotiating.
Yes, they are trying to kill Firefox.
Who would benefit from killing Mozilla? Are there any agreements where the IP held by Mozilla transfer on bankruptcy (like OpenAI and Microsoft).
I could imagine a profit motive from advertising companies like Google, Meta, and Microsoft, but Mozilla likely has a small impact on them.
If Firefox dies then they don’t have to pay their anti-monopoly bribe money.
So you think its an inside job? They have someone from Google in a high position?
No idea it was just a possible theory
