So funnily enough my now wife basically said exactly this to me shortly after we started talking.

See, every single guy she’s ever dated or even just found attractive has come out later as either gay, or trans. Every. Single. One. We’re not talking like she’s had a couple boyfriends that both decided they were gay, and that’s it. No, any time she finds herself attracted to anyone male they turn out to be gay, bi, or trans. Multiple boyfriends that came out as gay, her late spouse coming out as a trans woman, multiple random single dates with people that she’d run into again with another man. By the time she got to me she was at well over like 15 different men that have later come out as some kind of queer or she has later found out were some kind of queer.

So we talked for a while then randomly she says to me. “This is going to sound bad, but I don’t know how else to ask this and I promise I don’t mean it in a bad way. But I’ve gotta ask, what kind of queer are you? Because I actually find you attractive and that apparently doesn’t happen to me with cishet guys.”

So I spent a while telling her how I don’t think I am any kind. I guess you child maybe say I was bi because I don’t really feel any different about men or women. I don’t really develop feelings like that toward anyone before I get to know them so if I met the right person it wouldn’t matter to me what gender they were. I also had this full on gender crisis back in high school but the idea of being a girl felt just as wrong as being a boy so I met decided that I just hated Traditional Masculinity.

She responded with “That sounds a lot like nonbinary” and suddenly I had googling to do. Turns out I’m asexual and nonbinary lmao. The streak continues.
