Some speculation on this comic. I don’t think the PBF creator has ever officially commented on it, but it seems probable:
OK but this character died in the 70’s
I think he wasn’t looking to make it literally autobiographical, but more to make a comic that used dark humor in the usual PBF style and could be read as expressing his frustrations at the time. He rarely hits you over the head with jokes, so it makes sense that he’d create a fictional character that only bore some similarities to him, even if it’s a commentary on himself.
