It removes most of the story, difficulty curve, general flow, etc. It’s like recommending one of those first-person mods for Elden Ring or some such before playing the original game. Even if it’s better in some way, a lot of the appreciation or ability to play it is built on someone having already played the official game. There are ROMhacks that ‘fix’ Crystal for people who are emulating them and not doing trading, etc. But Crystal Clear isn’t one of them.
