I wasn’t sure where to put this, but it’s meta to Lemmy/Piefed so I figured this is as good a place as any.

I’ve noticed a trend of certain posters submitting several threads or even copies of the same thread back to back. Sometimes they’re all about the same topic, sometimes they’re different, but it seems like some people do all their posting at once. The result is usually something like 7 or 8 threads in my feed from the same person back to back, often with all of them being just images. So like, 8 images of cakes in a row or whatever.

Does anyone else find this obnoxious? I personally tend to block people who post this way so they don’t show up in my feed, but I’m wondering if it’s just me. It seems like poor etiquette to me, but I’m curious if I’m alone in this.

yes, I hate it - partially because it feels like spam and ruins the diversity of posts in a feed you might be scrolling through (particularly when sorting by New), but also because the users rarely feel like members of the community- they usually don’t bother sticking around and commenting on other posts, and they often don’t engage with comments on their own posts, and they are engaging in a kind of self-centered practice of logging in and dumping accumulated content and then leaving, as if all that matters is the upvotes they might harvest …

I don’t mind a dump if the person provides the dump within a single post like they did on Imgur, though. Maybe Lemmy/Piefed need to have a way for a single post to have an album of images instead of a single image, but a user could always inline more images in the text portion of their post. It’s just annoying when an entire community becomes a wall of posts by a single user made all at once, it is anti-social and lazy.
