As a Canadian teacher, I’ve met so many Ukrainian refugee families and seen the result of the trauma caused by the Russian invasion first hand. Knowing that these fascist loving tankies are out here spreading such abhorrent lies and propaganda fills me with an overwhelming sense of hatred on behalf of the children that I watch struggle every day to find some feeling of safety, and believe that this is now their home.

I will take a dig at these malicious fucks every single time I see them attempt to pulls their lies from the dredges of .ml and plaster them on any community that isn’t in their sphere of influence. And I take great pleasure in watching Yog and his Ilk writhe every time they realize they can’t just rule 1 me to make the truth stop flowing.

It is of course absolutely horrible that people have to flee their homes in the face of war. I empathize with any Ukrainian family that has directly suffered as a direct consequence of the Russian invasion and the infliction of this suffering is why I can’t be completely in support of Russia’s actions, which I realize is a controversial take here.

But unlike this KKKlanadian whose view is clouded by racism & ignorance my empathy extends to all the victims of the conflict - including the ethnic Russians that were being slaughtered in the Donbas for the eight fucking years between the US-backed coup and the Russian intervention. See, I might not agree with Russia’s decision to invade but I do understand why that decision was made and I can’t fault them for it in the slightest even if it results in what I think is unnecessary amounts of death and destruction. The West may have baited Russia but Russia didn’t need to take that bait. Regardless, when your own people are being massacred just across the border I can understand if it’s hard to watch and not do anything. Honestly I’d probably have made the same decision if it had been me.

But of course the thought of them never crosses his mind because his entire worldview is filtered through the despotic Western narrative control of privatized media. The traumatization of an entire nation only matters when it’s a Western-aligned nation; with no thought or care for those on the other side. Does he harbor the same resentment for America after the horrors we brought to Iraq and Afghanistan? Almost certainly not.

If you’re going to have empathy for human suffering it can’t be restricted by the borders of nations, the boundaries of cultures, or the extension of languages. That just makes you a fucking racist hypocrite.

Was it a “bait”? I feel like baits usually don’t have actual consequences on that level and is that not only half of the reason why Russia invaded?

I thought the joining NATO thing was the main reason for invasion to make sure that there is no NATO base directly next to Russia?

That may have been the biggest reason and the straw that broke the camel’s back, but not the only one. The previous eight years of ethnic cleansing in Russian-speaking areas by the Banderite-aligned government was also a factor.
